"Aati Kya Khandala" , this one song has put Khandala as one of the famous travel destinations of india. Although it is not worth a visit alone.. but sure is a very very good weekend getaway from busy cities of Pune and Mumbai. Specially beautiful in the month of Monsoon, it is known for its Waterfalls and pleasent weather. Going to Lonavala and Khandala be sure to take your car because one of the things you will like is the drive on the Pune Express way and road to amby valley.
Be sure to go to lonavala and khandala with a mindset of relaxing and dont try to cover points or travel locations as u might get disappointed. It is not comparable with himalayas or other higher hills but it is a cooler and a very near getaway from mumbai and pune.
